Your children can travel with a 50 to 75 percent discount or even free of charge. Children under 4 years of age, in some countries the age limit is 6 years, can travel by train free of charge. Children under 12 years of age get a 50% discount. In certain countries, fares with a 50% discount are available for children even up to 14, 15, 16 or 17 years of age. Children under 6 years of age inclusive travel free of charge in the following countries: Austria, Belgium, Bulgaria, Czech Republic, Denmark, Finland, Luxembourg, Hungary, Germany, Slovakia, Slovenia, Switzerland, Sweden, Serbia and Montenegro. The same applies for travel with Attica – international ferry operator. The following operators have raised the age limit for children’s fares with a 50% discount: • 14 years for travel in Serbia, Montenegro and Hungary, • 15 years for travel in the Czech Republic, Slovakia, Austria and Germany, • 16 years for travel in Switzerland, Denmark, Norway, Sweden, United Kingdom and Ireland, • 17 years for travel in Finland. The above discounts are not valid for travel with InterRail. InterRail tickets with a 50% discount can be purchased for children aged 4 to 11. When traveling to Serbia, Macedonia and Greece using a City Star International ticket, children aged 6 to 12 get a 75% discount. Children under 15 years of age travelling to Austria, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Czech Republic, Slovakia and Croatia together with their parents or grandparents ride free of charge.
