Description of the path of Kosmač

The educational Kosmač Trail is a learning literary trail in the valley of the Idrijca River. A signposted footpath leads the visitor from Most na Soči, past numerous popular sites and after two hours brings them to the birth house of the writer Ciril Kosmač.

Travellers follow the words of Ciril Kosmač and at the same time learn about the historic and cultural monuments as well as geographic features of the region.

The birth house of Ciril Kosmač is located on the left bank of the Idrijca River away from the main road. The house holds a permanent exhibition devoted to the life and work of the Slovenian writer. The ground floor comprises an entrance hall, small dayroom (»izba«) and bedroom (»kamra«) depicting scenes of the working and living conditions during the 1930s. The upper-floor rooms are a showcase of writer’s life and creative expression. The house where Ciril Kosmač was born represents one of the main learning points along the Kosmač Trail. This project was successfully launched at the Dušan Munih elementary school in Most na Soči in the year 2000.
