From October 1st, Slovenian Railways will be lead by a new general manager, Mr. Goran Brankovič. After examining in detail the situation on Slovenian Railways, his first steps will be to stop the negative trends in business and the adoption of necessary operational measures that will enable the firm's survival, without disproportionate compromising the social situation of employees. "This will be carried out by a financial consolidation, streamlining operations and strengthening the marketing activities," said Brankovič.
Of the four candidates for the position of the general director of Slovenian Railways, Mr. Brankovič convinced the expert tender commission for his program and personal presentation, as well for the experience gained so far in managerial positions. Brankovič said, among other things, that the active support and constructive support of the owner of the Slovenian Railway, under his direction it could be possible to realize a vision that Slovenian Railways become the most important, technologically advanced and cost-effective system with comprehensive integrated services for the transport of goods and provider of comprehensive friendly services in passenger traffic and of effective maintenance of a modern and secure infrastructure and means of transport.
