Group travel

Travelling in a group is more fun and it is cheaper too. A group of 6 or more people is entitled to a 20 percent discount. Groups of children receive a 50 percent discount.

For travel on ICS trains, groups of young people may take advantage of the standard adult group fare. Discounts are not valid on Fridays, nor on the day preceding a public holiday. On these days, standard group fare discounts may be used.

Terms of use

To qualify for group travel, a group of at least 6 students, school pupils or trainees between the ages of 12 and 26 must be accompanied by a professor or mentor. The discount applies to one-way or return journeys and must be supported by the K-16 card as confirmation of entitlement to discounted group travel for young people and children. The holder (school, faculty, association or organisation) should complete the K-16 form in duplicate and have it authorised with a stamp and signature.

K-16 Card

The K-16 ID card for discounted group fares for young people and children can be purchased at the ticket counter.

Validity period: for one journey

The holder of the K-16 card is responsible for correct use of the discount and must pay the railways any possible difference. The card holder is liable for the cost of any damages caused by members of the group for which it was not possible to recompense on the train.
