It is also possible to purchase a ticket for this route in reverse order. There is also a choice of stations from which to depart –passengers can also begin their journey from Maribor or Celje.
A great many Slovenian passengers regularly use train services to Austria, which is why the new timetable will introduce trains running between Maribor and Vienna every two hours. Furthermore, trains on the Graz -Maribor route will now also operate in the mornings. In addition to these services, the Emona EuroCity will operate on the Ljubljana –Vienna route, and the Croatia EuroCity will operate on the Zagreb – Vienna route. Each day, eight trains will depart Maribor for Vienna; and six trains will depart Vienna daily for Maribor. The new services are intended primarily to cater for daily and weekly commuting on the Maribor- Graz- Maribor route, as well as for business and tourist travel to Vienna, or for passengers travelling from Austria to Slovenia and Croatia.
