Travel one of Europe's most beautiful city.
For some time, the capital of the Czech Republic has been regarded as Europe's most beautiful city, packed full of architectural splendours. The best place to begin discovering the city is from the top of the castle mound in the old town, or “Hradčany”. Formerly the residence of the Kings of Bohemia, the palace is now the seat of the present day Czech government. At the end of the First World War, Prague Castle lay in a state of terrible decay, an example of the deliberate neglect of Czech history by its Austrian rulers. The task of renovation was entrusted to none other than our very own architect, Plečnik, who restored the castle to its former splendour. You should also see Saint Vitus's Cathedral, the gothic hall, and Golden Alley. To reach the old town on the other side of the River Vltava, you have to cross one of the greatest attractions of Prague – the Charles Bridge. This stone bridge, built in 1400, with its thirty sculptures is a pilgrimage route for visitors, and a haven for street artists and souvenir vendors.

Ljubljana-Prague Tickets (2nd Class) via Wien
After strolling around Prague's old town, your journey of discovery continues in the new town. The place where old and new towns converge is called Mustek. The former trenches have become an attractive shopping street, “Na Prikope”, and the badlands beyond the city walls have become one of the largest markets in the city, and the famous Vaclavske namesti, where the revolutions – the bloody and the velvet- took place. Prague is a city of music, offering one of the most diverse assortments of classical concerts and modern music in the world. Churches and concert halls open their doors to lovers of Smetana and Dvorak's music; all along the streets and bridges, passers-by are entertained with various sounds, from Czech folk music to Dixieland tunes.
A special experience in Prague is to awaken to the sound of music in the Aria Hotel in one of the most beautiful areas of the town, the »Mali Strani«. Each of the hotel's floors is dedicated to one of the great musical genres, from classical to jazz to modern music.
