Pula

Travel by train direct to the centre of historic Pula.

Why Pula?

The town on the Istrian peninsula that needs no introduction. The world-renown Roman coliseum, built in the first century, the Sergii Arch, Temple of Augustus, the archaeological museum, and much more… Pula is a town with plenty of things to do, where in fact there is not enough time to see all the attractions.

If you plan on staying longer in Pula, then a visit to the Brioni National Park will certainly provide an interesting addition to your holiday. For a long time the park was closed to the general public, thus stirring the imagination and compelling visitors to take a look. A special train takes you through the park to the roman remains, an early Christian basilica, the local museum, and the zoological gardens... you will also see what is believed to be the world’s oldest olive tree, which, though held together with cement –for it was struck by lightning, nevertheless still bears fruit. You can also view the Tito museum.

If you believe that summers should be spent lazily on the beach, then Pula provides an excellent base from which to visit a number of beaches both in the vicinity and further a field.
