On 24th March, Robert Vuga, director of the Business Unit Cargo, signed an agreement on opening a repesentative offices of Slovenian railways in Bulgaria. The representation will become operational in April and will market conventional and intermodal rail services.
With the establishment of representative office in Bulgaria Slovenian railways expand their sales network in key markets and promote the internationalization of business. We want to tap the potential of trade flows between Bulgaria and Western Europe and in other nearby markets. This year we want to strengthen rail transport in land transit as well as to offer customers comprehensive logistics services, primarily to and from Western Europe (Italy, France), the Balkans and Turkey. In Bulgaria, we work together with the partner company Eurologistics.
Vuga has also signed an agreement on establishing a freight train, which will be organized by Slovenian railways and will run three times a week from Lyon via Ljubljana to the terminal Yana, Bulgaria. Trains are scheduled to start in June and wil transport containers and conventional wagons.
